In case you missed it, a groundbreaking PETA investigation exposed hellish conditions at Envigo’s beagle-breeding facility. The facility confined sweet dogs to tiny cages 24/7; deprived them of beds, toys, attention, and opportunities for exercise; and let hundreds of puppies die in cramped and filthy conditions. Our investigation helped close the miserable dog prison and give thousands of dogs the freedom and loving homes they deserved. ❤️
This is high-key great progress, but we can’t stop now—tens of thousands of other beagles are being held in Marshall BioResources facilities. Marshall breeds beagles and other animals in windowless buildings and has let sick and injured dogs suffer without proper vet care. The conglomerate sells dogs to labs around the world to be imprisoned and tortured in absurd experiments. Marshall can even intentionally breed dogs to have painful birth defects if doing so means more bread for the execs. As a company rep said, “We will breed anything a lab wants. If they want a dog with 3 legs or an abnormally large heart, we can do it.” 😡
So, what can you do to take action against this cruel corporation? Well, the company also owns Marshall Pet Products, which supplies Petco, PetSmart, and Chewy with toys and other merchandise. Buying anything from these companies gives Marshall BioResources more reason to keep breeding dogs for experiments—especially gentle beagles, who are used specifically because of their docile nature (they don’t bite even when they’re abused). 😢 Instead, buy from retailers that don’t sell animals or have ties to animal experiments, like PetFlow.com, Target, and Wag.com.
Let Petco, PetSmart, and Chewy know that if they claim to care about animals’ well-being, they must reconsider their relationship with Marshall Pet Products, which props up the cruel and deadly animal experimentation industry.
