Animals Violently Killed for ASOS, Aritzia, and Others

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Every single piece of leather—whether it’s used to make a coat, pants, or shoes—comes from an animal who died kicking and screaming on a slaughterhouse floor. Animals used for leather endure joyless, painful lives in cramped, filthy conditions, ending in a violent death—often while still conscious and in full view of other animals.

All for human vanity. 💔

The leather industry subjects over a billion sensitive animals each year to horrific cruelty. They need their skin to live, they feel pain, and their lives are stolen from them—and for what? So brands like ASOS, Aritzia, Fossil, and Mixology Clothing Company can make a profit, even though they already sell faux leather and know how popular it is.

This cruel industry is also harmful to the environment. Leather made from animals’ skin contributes significantly to water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, far more than any synthetic or plant-based vegan leather does.

Young people worldwide are recognizing the cruelty. Cows are amazing animals—they can recognize over 100 other cows, and they grieve when their friends or family members die. But most importantly, they can feel fear, stress, and pain. It’s unacceptable to abuse and kill them for any reason, including for clothing.

With the availability of animal-friendly materials, it would be easy for fashion companies such as ASOS, Aritzia, Fossil, and Mixology to make the compassionate switch to selling only vegan leather.

Tell companies to choose empathy—not cruelty and environmental devastation—by selling only vegan leather!
