Minks’ Necks Broken, Skin Peeled Off for Coats—Help Stop the Gov From Funding This

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Minks are shy animals who chill by themselves and like to have a vast habitat for foraging, climbing, and swimming—but a bill in Congress could prop up an industry that kills them and turns their fur into coats. 😰 A part of the proposed House Farm Bill (HR 8467) would help the mink industry develop and expand into international markets—a change that would fund minks’ suffering and pose a danger to public health.

PETA undercover investigations have revealed that fur factory farms keep these animals in cramped wire cages that are often caked with urine and feces. 🤢 The animals frequently show signs of extreme psychological distress, like frantic circling and self-mutilation, and suffer from infections, gaping wounds, and other illnesses and injuries that commonly go untreated. After a life of misery, they’re gassed to death or their necks are broken before their skin is peeled off. 😱

Public health pros say that cramming sick and stressed animals together in filthy conditions is reckless af. It creates the perfect breeding ground for dangerous diseases, including COVID-19—which can mutate in minks and jump to humans and has been found on hundreds of mink fur factory farms around the world, including in the U.S. 😷

Please urge Congress to help prevent minks from suffering by changing this dangerous bill!
