Rabbits Slaughtered for Cat Toys—Tell Mud Bay to Stop Selling Their Fur

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Rabbits are sensitive, social animals who often leap into the air and flick their feet when they’re excited—why tf would we want our companion animals to play with their body parts? 😨 🐰 Mud Bay seems to think this is okay: The companion animal retail chain sells several cat toys made of real rabbit fur.

Because the USDA’s Humane Methods of Slaughter Act doesn’t protect rabbits, there is no federal mandate that the animals must be stunned. This means they can be killed in straight-up gruesome ways while they’re still conscious. Smaller farming operations that exploit rabbits for their skins either break their necks or smash them on the head, often leaving rabbits screaming in pain. Larger operations may try to electrocute rabbits before slitting their throats or cutting their heads off. 😱

Every fur toy sold by Mud Bay represents the pain and fear of rabbits who don’t want to suffer and die. Please help save rabbits by urging Mud Bay to stop selling their fur! 🚨
