Frogs Still Move and Vocalize as Workers Tear Them Apart in the Frog-Meat Industry in Vietnam

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

This frog prob looks different than frogs you’re used to seeing—do you know why? It’s because his skin has been ripped off. 😨 He desperately tried to escape the agonizing pain, but there was nowhere to go—this is the terrifying reality inside the frog-meat industry in Vietnam.

PETA Asia investigated this industry, which exports frogs’ legs for diners in the U.S., Europe, and elsewhere. Frogs are mass-bred on farms and then crammed into crowded sacks so they can be brought to facilities like this one. Then they’re chilled in an ice bath—but the bath isn’t cold enough to make them unconscious.

After the frogs were taken out, workers used scissors to cut the animals’ backs without providing any pain relief. Then workers violently ripped their skin off. The frogs moved and vocalized, but workers kept tearing them apart so that their legs could be taken. 😰 Investigators found many frogs still alive even after this trauma.

Here’s the thing: This cruelty only happens bc humans keep demanding frogs’ legs. The best way to help save frogs—and all other animals—from extreme suffering is by going vegan.

Take our pledge to go vegan to help save nearly 200 animals every year, reduce climate change, and become healthier. We’ll even send you a Guide to Going Vegan to help get you started, and a peta2 sticker sheet as a thank you!
