Huge news: After a relentless PETA campaign, Starbucks—the largest coffee chain in the world—stopped charging extra for vegan milk! 🥳 This victory shows that speaking up for animals works, and we need your help again to convince The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to do the same.

Cows are smart animals with diverse personalities—each individual cow might be bold, shy, friendly, or bossy. But the dairy industry treats these complex animals like machines by forcibly impregnating them, kidnapping their babies, and sending them to slaughter once they can’t produce as much milk. 😢 The production of dairy also greatly contributes to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water scarcity.

Every vegan milk upcharge prioritizes $$$ over animals, the planet, and customers’ health.

I’m disappointed that you are still upcharging for vegan milk options, given the ethical, environmental, and health concerns associated with dairy.

Cows produce milk for the same reason humans do: to nourish their babies. But in the dairy industry, cows are repeatedly artificially inseminated, and calves are taken from their mother’s side shortly after birth because the milk intended for them is instead diverted and shipped off for humans to drink.

Starbucks, Dutch Bros, Blue Bottle Coffee, Gregory’s Coffee, Panera Bread, Philz Coffee, Pret A Manger, Scooter’s Coffee, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and Tim Hortons have all ended their company’s upcharge, and it is time that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf keep up with the new industry standard by doing the same. Until you make the good business decision to stop upcharging for non-dairy milks, I’ll be getting coffee at Starbucks and other shops that don’t penalize caring consumers, and I will tell my friends and family to do the same. Thank you.
