Your lunch period at school should be your chance to relax and refuel—NOT a chance for the evil dairy industry to make a quick buck. Yet every day in cafeterias across the country, millions of students are forced to take a carton of cow’s milk with their lunch, whether they want it or not. 😑 Maybe you’re one of them.

The dairy industry tears cows away from their babies, forcibly impregnates them, steals their milk, and sends them to slaughter. This gross industry doesn’t just harm cows—many students can’t digest lactose, and drinking cow’s milk can lead to acne, stomach pain, or even serious health issues. Others avoid it for ethical, cultural, or environmental reasons. So why do students in the school lunch program have to take cow’s milk unless a parent or guardian requests an alternative? 🤷 This B.S. policy has to change!
Enter the Freedom in School Cafeteria and Lunches Act, or FISCAL Act (H.R. 2539/S. 1236). This bill would make schools offer nutritious, vegan milk to all students at no additional cost without needing special documentation. That way, every student could make a choice that respects animals, their health, and the environment.
