Road Runner Sports and FIT4MOM are sponsoring the Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run in San Diego in October—a race that’ll help fund SeaWorld’s abuse. 😠 Please urge these companies to stop supporting this B.S.!

At SeaWorld, orcas, who can swim up to 150 miles a day in the ocean with their pods, are stuck in tiny tanks swimming in endless circles. The lonely and frustrated orcas often break their teeth chewing on the tanks’ metal bars and concrete walls. And while SeaWorld was forced to end its orca-breeding program, it still forcibly impregnates other dolphins, sometimes after drugging them. 😰

Every cent tossed at SeaWorld props up imprisonment and sexual abuse, which is why countless companies —including JetBlue, Mattel, Mott’s, Southwest Airlines, STA Travel, and Taco Bell—have cut ties with the abusement park. 👏👏👏 Road Runner Sports and FIT4MOM need to be next up.

I was disappointed to learn that your company is sponsoring the Howl-O-Sprint 5K at SeaWorld San Diego. SeaWorld has a long history of exploiting and abusing animals, and no company should want to be associated with this cruelty.

More than 40 orcas and over 500 other dolphins and whales have died at SeaWorld’s parks, many prematurely. The remaining animals are crammed into barren concrete tanks, where they can’t escape attacks from other frustrated, aggressive animals. They’re forced to perform tricks day in and day out and are sometimes given anti-anxiety drugs to combat the stress of extreme captivity and the endless monotony of swimming in circles. Orcas even break their teeth chewing on the metal bars and concrete sides of their tanks.

By sponsoring Howl-O-Sprint, your company is endorsing this abuse. Nearly every other company that had supported SeaWorld has cut ties with its cruelty. Please follow their lead and stop sponsoring events at SeaWorld. Thank you.
