Hot take: Touristy stuff is fun. Checking out landmarks, parks, and museums is what it’s all about—but watching bears suffer in a concrete pit? 😨 That should NEVER be in the travel plans.

At Three Bears General Store, a gross roadside attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, bears have nothing to do but pace back and forth in a concrete pit and beg tourists for food. After several bears died in the pit, prob from the poor living conditions, the roadside hellhole bought three young bears named River, Daisy, and Dolly to keep the suffering going. 😡

Please join us in urging Three Bears General Store to close the pit and send the bears to an accredited sanctuary before it’s too late!

I was disappointed to learn that you are still forcing bears to live in a concrete pit after so many bears have already suffered at your facility. The public is turning away from businesses that exploit animals, and it’s time to close your bear pit. Your family business should step up for the community by creating a fun environment for your customers and friends that doesn’t include animal exploitation.

Bears are highly intelligent, complex animals who thrive in natural environments where they can exhibit normal behaviors, including digging dens, foraging for food, climbing trees, exploring large spaces, and hibernating in the winter. But at your store, they can’t do any of these things—instead, they are used as props for entertainment and are treated as if they are no more alive than the merchandise on your shelves. They deserve to live at a sanctuary that could provide them with exactly what they need to enjoy a happy, healthy life.

Please do the right thing for the bears and your community by transferring the animals to an accredited sanctuary and closing the concrete pit.
