Every pair of leather shoes we buy props up horrors like these in the leather industry:

Cows are burned with hot irons and have parts of their tails cut off, and bulls have their testicles cut out—all often without any painkillers.
After a lifetime of being trapped and abused, cows are brought to slaughterhouses, where their throats are slit. Some are even skinned and cut apart while still conscious, often while other terrified animals watch.
PETA investigations have exposed workers bashing cows in the head with sledgehammers before ripping off their skin, plus burning, beating, and electroshocking gentle cows and bulls.

The leather industry also destroys the planet. Research shows that leather made from cow’s skin adds more to global warming, water pollution, water depletion, and greenhouse gas emissions than most vegan leather. 🏭

Please tell Reebok, New Balance, HOKA, Brooks, and Mizuno to ban leather from all shoes and switch to vegan materials ASAP!

I was disappointed to learn that your company is still selling leather made from animals’ skins.

PETA Asia released eyewitness footage in Thailand and Cambodia revealing that workers repeatedly bashed cows in the head with sledgehammers before ripping off their skin. In India, herds of sensitive, social cows are often forced to march hundreds of miles to their deaths, through scorching heat and dust, without food and water. The animals’ tails are deliberately broken, and tobacco and chili peppers are rubbed into their eyes to drive them on or force them to stand when they collapse. In Brazil, the world’s single largest source of animal hides, a video exposé from PETA U.S. revealed that gentle cows and bulls were burned in the face with hot irons, beaten, and electroshocked.

Switching to vegan materials for your shoes is not only the ethical choice—it’s a booming market your competitors are already capitalizing on. Nearly half of U.S. consumers are willing to pay more for animal-free footwear, and 60% say it is at least somewhat important that their shoes are animal-free. Millennials and Gen Zers are driving the demand for vegan, sustainable options, and ignoring this movement is leaving money on the table.
