Beagles Abused and Sold to Experimenters—Help Get Them Adopted

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Positive puppy news: Thanks to years of pressure from PETA, Alliance for Animals, the Animal Activist Legal Defense Project, Dane4Dogs, Direct Action Everywhere, The Simple Heart, and student activists like you, Ridglan Farms—a dog factory farm that for decades bred and sold thousands of beagles to experimenters—is one step closer to shutting down. 🎉

It’s huge progress, but here’s the catch—Ridglan Farms can still sell beagles to laboratories until that deadline, and thousands of dogs are trapped there!

Ridglan Farms has been exposed for all this and more:

  • Staff have cut off dogs’ swollen eyelid glands with scissors without pain relief.
  • Records show nearly 275 puppies born each year died while still there, and those who survived were sold to laboratories.
  • Dogs have been confined to tiny metal cages, suffered from untreated wounds, and had swollen feet from standing on wire floors.

What You Can Do
Ridglan Farms has to end its dog-breeding operation for laboratories by July 1, 2026, but that’s wayyyyy too long for the dogs still trapped there. Universities that have bought dogs from Ridglan should commit to cutting ties with this hellhole, stop funding it, and transition to non-animal research methods.

Please urge the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Missouri-Columbia to act now to help make sure that dogs still imprisoned at Ridglan are released and placed in caring homes. 🐶🐶🐶
