Did your sweater come from a screaming rabbit? If you bought from e-commerce retailer REVOLVE, it’s possible.

REVOLVE sells angora sweaters, shorts, and cardigans. Rabbits used for angora are tortured every few months when workers pin them down and tear out their hair by hand as the animals scream in fear. Others freeze in terror as they’re violently shorn.

When workers aren’t stealing their hair, the rabbits are confined to cramped, filthy cages. Many die from illness or injury, and those who survive are eventually hung upside down and have their throats slit once they stop making the industry enough $$$.

Fashion does NOT have to involve cruelty. 🙅 More than 500 brands have already banned angora: It’s time for REVOLVE to join the list.

I was disappointed to learn that your company still sells angora, especially given that more than 500 major fashion brands have recognized the inherent cruelty and banned it. Angora comes from rabbits who are restrained while workers violently rip out their hair as they scream in pain and terror or shear them so roughly that they’re left cut and bleeding.

These animals spend their lives confined to small cages and endure repeated trauma every few months when workers pluck or shear their hair. Eventually, those who have survived years of this abuse are hung upside down, and their throats are slit.

No product is worth this suffering. With so many animal-free fibers available—like bamboo, TENCEL, hemp, and organic cotton—there’s no acceptable excuse to use angora. Hundreds of companies have already banned it, proving that compassion and innovation go hand in hand.

I urge you to stop selling angora. Until you do, I will be shopping elsewhere and supporting companies that refuse to profit from this cruelty.
