Over 50 years ago, a baby elephant was torn away from her home and family. She’s been forced to perform in circuses ever since.

Today, that elephant, now named Viola, shows signs of joint pain and has been filmed several times swaying repetitively—a sign of psychological distress. Not a shocker. For decades, she’s had to unload from the trailer, carry heavy loads of people on her back in small circles, and perform stupid tricks in city after city. If she doesn’t, she gets the sharp end of a steel-tipped weapon called a bullhook. ðŸ˜

In 2025 alone, Viola was forced to perform in nearly 200 shows across 16 states with the Jordan World Circus and other circuses. Humans have made bank off her misery for 50+ years. Her body is breaking down: She needs to be retired to an accredited facility where she can get the care she deserves before it’s too late.
🚨 Please urge venues that support the exploitation of animals for entertainment to drop acts that feature animals like Viola! 🚨
