Tormented for Teddy Bears? Tell FAO Schwarz That Goats Suffer for Mohair

Are we seriously at the point where real animals are being hurt for stuffed animals? 🫩 Yup. FAO Schwarz sells teddy bears made with mohair—aka hair sliced from bleeding goats!

PETA Asia investigations have exposed the mohair industry’s violence. Workers drag goats by their limbs and horns, throw them across floors, and leave them to suffer with untreated wounds.

Goats wag their tails and jump for joy when they’re happy. Mother goats form strong bonds with their babies, and both mother and baby recognize each other’s unique calls—or “bleats”—shortly after birth. 💞 But in the mohair industry, goat kids are shorn starting as early as 6 months old. And as soon as they’re seen as no longer useful, workers kill the goats.

Nobody’s childhood should be ruined for teddy bears: Neither goat kids who don’t want to suffer, nor human kids who don’t want to harm animals. Please urge FAO Schwarz to drop mohair teddy bears ASAP! 🧸
